2004-2005 Season

As the American Fine Arts Festival moved into its second year, it built on the success of its first season by expanding its programs and reaching out to a broader range of musical talent across the country. AFAF’s 2004-2005 Season featured the addition of a concerto competition conceived as a tribute to the 320th anniversary of J. S. Bach’s birth. Winners of the concerto competition were invited to perform with the Washington Youth Chamber Orchestra (Olga Yanovich, Music Director) at the Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center.

Auditions for AFAF’s 2003-2004 Season were conducted in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Washington DC. Our second season also saw increased participation in the Festival, with over 450 taking part in a series of Winners’ Concerts, performing in New York City’s Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center and CAMI Recital Hall.
