Some of the guidelines for our regular season program may have changed since last season, so please look over the rules carefully.

 

Participant Eligibility & Repertoire

The regular program of the American Fine Arts Festival is open to Instrumentalists and vocalists of all nationalities, K-12, college-level and amateur adults. Participants must perform one piece or one song from the standard repertoire. Each piece must be a minimum of 16 measures in length. Auditions not exceed 7 minutes. Auditions/performances that exceed the maximum performance time will be considered ineligible. Performers are required to perform from memory.

 

How to apply

Applicants should submit their audition performance via YouTube, Drop box, iCloud, transfer or other popular file sharing systems, along with a completed Application Form and a non-refundable application fee.
• The length of the audition program should not exceed 7 minutes.
• The recording must be free of background noise and distortion.
• Applications and recording should be sent via email to: afafestival1@gmail.com

 

Accompaniment

Please note that AFAF does not provide accompanists for auditions. Wherever possible, participants are encouraged to provide their own accompanist.

 

Winners’ Concerts & Awards

Participants who pass the auditions will be invited to perform in one of our Winners’ Concerts, to be held in September 2022 – June 2023 in New York City . Festival winners chosen to perform in our Winners’ Concert series will be awarded Certificates of Excellence. Teachers will be awarded Recognition Diplomas. In addition, winners will be provided with five complimentary tickets to their recital. Teachers will be notified of audition results by email.

Moscow Concert

Presented in Association with the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation

The American Fine Arts Festival, in association with the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation (Moscow, Russia), is once again awarding a special prize to exceptional young participants of our regular season festival program. In addition to a special recital at Carnegie Hall, the prize includes five nights room and board in Moscow for the prize winner as well as one accompanying adult. While in Russia’s capital, the prize winner will have the opportunity to give a recital in Moscow (October, 2022, dates and venues TBA), participate in a master class with a member of the Moscow Conservatory faculty, as well as take advantage of various excursions around Moscow.

 

 

Attention

Please note that the prizes do not include air travel — winners will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements.

 

Winners’ Concerts — Venues & Dates

Winners’ Concerts for the 2021-2022 Regular Season Program of the American Fine Arts Festival are currently scheduled to take place between September 2022 – June 2023, in the following venues: Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, The Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center. Please note that other venues or extra concert dates may be announced later in the season. Winners will be provided with five complimentary tickets to their recital.

The application fee is $200 for solo and $100/ensemble members.

Deadlines

Applications and audition recording must be postmarked no later than February 2, 2022. Audition results will be announced on this website on or after February 7, 2022.
