Angel Wang BIOGRAPHY

Born in 2003 into a family of musicians in Los Angeles, California.

Angel began to study piano at five under the guidance of his mother and gave his first public appearance soon after. In 2012, he was accepted to the Gnessin Moscow Special School of Music (College), where he studied with Tatiana Zelikman, Mikhail Khokhlov and Boris Berezovsky.

Today Angel is studying at the Moscow Central School of Music of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Natalia Trull.
He participated in masterclasses with Alexander Ghindin, Daniel Pollack, Dmitry Rachmanov, Grigory Gruzman, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Stephan Arnold.

Angel Wang is a scholarship recipient, and an active participant of the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation and American Fine Arts festival. He is regularly invited to take part of ” Moscow meets Friends” concert programs. He holds two Grants from Moscow Mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, for his solo piano and percussion performances. He has a gratitude from the international public fund “Russian Peace Foundation” for high artistic skill and bright professional performance. Awarded with a diploma of the Russian State Duma deputy M.A. Kozhevnikova for his high professional skills and outstanding performance at the festival “Glorify the Heroes of the Motherland”. In 2016, he took part at the International Music Festival “Rheingau Musik Festival” in Germany.

Angel has collaborated with orchestras such as the Moscow Symphony, Kostroma Province Symphony and Vaasa (Finland) Symphony, and Symphony Orchestra of Czech Republic.

He has appeared in the prestigious concert venues such as Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (Moscow), the Zaryadye Moscow Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Concert Hall),(New York, USA), Olomouc Philharmonic (Czech), Belarussia Philharmonic, Zipper concert Hall of The Colburn School ( Los Angeles, USA), Musicverein Brahms-Saal ( Vienna, Austria), Freizeitheim Lister Turm ( Hannover, Germany), Ridotto del Teatro Comunale ( Ferrara, Italy), Munson Recital Hall of the Azusa Pacific University, USA, Moscow International House of Music, Moscow Shilov State Art Gallery, Scriabin Museum, Moscow Composers’ House.

Mr. Wang is a prize-winner of international competitions, including The 2nd Rachmaninov International Piano Competition (2020, Russia, 1st Prize), the Fifth International Festival of Young Pianists named after G.G. Neuhaus (2018, Russia, winner), the International Competition of Young Performers “Val de Travers” (2017, Switzerland, 1st Prize), the International piano competition “Feirich”( 2017, Austria, 1st Prize), Grand-Prix of the 13th International Festival “Villahermosa” (2017, Mexico), All-Russian competition of young performers in the chamber ensemble “Musical Spring in the House of Jacobi” (2017, Russia, 1st Prize), Los Angeles Young Musician International Competition (2015, USA, 2nd Prize and two special Awards : The Most Promising Young Musician and the Best performance of the Baroque music, the XIII International Competition of the Padova (2015, Italy, 1st Prize), 13th Annual International Russian Music Piano Competition (2012, USA, 2nd Prize)
